อุปกรณ์เสริมอีกตัวสำหรับกล้อง Canon V1 ที่อยากแนะนำ คือ JJC Filter Adapter & Lens Cap Kit หรือเรียกสั้นๆ ตามชื่อรุ่นว่า JJC RN-V1 อุปกรณ์ตัวนี้สำหรับผู้ใช้ที่ต้องการใช้ฟิลเตอร์กับกล้อง Canon V1 ปกติกล้องรุ่นนี้ดีไซน์มาให้หน้าเลนส์ไม่มีเกลียวที่จะใส่ฟิลเตอร์ได้ หรือแม้แต่จะปิดฝาเลนส์ธรรมดาก็ไม่ได้เช่นกัน แต่ถ้าจะครอบฝาเลนส์ก็ทำได้ครับ ผมเขียนถึงฝาครอบเลนส์ไว้ในตอนที่แล้ว แต่ถ้าใช้ JJC RN-V1 จะนำฝาครอบเลนส์มาใช้ร่วมด้วยไม่ได้
เหตุใดฟิลเตอร์จึงมีความจำเป็น ประการแรกช่วยปกป้องหน้าเลนส์ในขณะใช้งาน เช่น UV ฟิลเตอร์ หรือฟิลเตอร์แบบใส ประการต่อมา คือ เมื่อต้องการปรับแสงท้องฟ้าให้เข้มขึ้น ต้องการลดแสงสะท้อน ไม่ว่าแสงสะท้อนจากกระจก จากผิวน้ำ ก็ต้องใช้ CPL ฟิลเตอร์ อีกประการคือ ND Filter หรือฟิลเตอร์ลดแสง บางคนอาจคิดว่า ก็กล้องรุ่นนี้เขามี Built-in ND ฟิลเตอร์ (3-stop) มาให้อยู่แล้ว ยังจะไปซื้อฟิลเตอร์ภายนอกมาใส่เพิ่มอีกหรือ ข้อเท็จจริง ND ฟิลเตอร์ 3-stop มันยังไม่พอเวลาแสงแดดจัดๆ คือ มันเป็นแค่ ND8 เท่านั้น ถ้าใช้ถ่ายภาพนิ่งมันก็ไม่ใช่ปัญหาใหญ่ เพราะเรายังใช้ตัวอื่นช่วยได้ด้วยในการลดแสง เช่น ปรับ shutter speed หรือปรับการชดเชยแสง ปรับ ISO แต่ถ้าใช้ถ่ายวิดีโอ ซึ่งมันเป็นวิถีของกล้องรุ่นนี้ หากเจอแสงจ้าๆ แล้วต้องการถ่ายที่ shutter speed ต่ำๆ เช่น 25 หรือ 30 fps บางครั้ง ND8 เอาไม่อยู่แน่นอน ดังนั้น การเพิ่ม ND ฟิลเตอร์จริงๆ เข้ามามันจะช่วยได้มาก ทำให้เราได้แสงตามที่เราต้องการ
JJC RN-V1 ใช้วิธีแปะเทปกาวของ 3M ไปบนขอบหน้าเลนส์ ทำให้เราสามารถใช้ฟิลเตอร์ได้ทุกประเภท โดยฟิลเตอร์เป็นขนาด 58mm และในกล่องของ JJC RN-V1 มีเทปกาวสำรองอีกชุดหนึ่ง พร้อมทั้งอุปกรณ์สำหรับถอด JJC RN-V1 ออกได้ด้วย คือห่วงคล้ายๆ ที่ใส่พวงกุญแจพร้อมกับสายเอ็น ซึ่งวิธีการติดตั้งและถอดออกนั้น โปรดดูวิดีโอของ JJC อยู่ที่ Link นี้
เมื่อแปะ JJC RN-V1 เข้ากับกล้อง Canon V1 เสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว หน้าตาก็จะเป็นดังแบบภาพด้านล่าง และอีกภาพก็เป็นการใช้ Variable ND ฟิลเตอร์ของ K&F Concept 2-in-1 CPL & ND4-ND64
นอกจากนี้ ผมถ่ายคลิปวิดีโอสั้นๆ แสดงให้เห็นว่า เมื่อใช้กับ VND มันจะส่งผลกระทบกับระบบกันสั่นของกล้องหรือไม่ ทั้ง OIS และ DIS ปกติ JJC RN-V1 น้ำหนักน้อยมาก แต่พอใส่ VND เข้าไป นำ้หนักก็เพิ่มขึ้นมาพอสมควร เฉพาะ VND ยี่ห้อที่ผมใช้น้ำหนัก 31.9 กรัม โดยใช้ถ่ายด้วยมือ ไม่ได้ใช้ขาตั้งกล้อง ผมก็พยายามสังเกต มันก็ดูไม่ได้กระทบอะไร ดูเอาเองตรงท้ายบทความนี้ครับ
Canon V1 Accessories II
Another recommended accessory for the Canon V1 camera is the JJC Filter Adapter & Lens Cap Kit, also known by its model name, the JJC RN-V1. This accessory is for users who want to use filters with the Canon V1. This camera model has a lens design that lacks the threading needed for filters or even a standard lens cap.Though you can use a slip-on lens cap, as I mentioned in a previous post, but you can’t use it with the JJC RN-V1.
Filters are essential for a few key reasons. First, they protect the front of the lens during use, like a UV filter. Second, they’re crucial for light control. You need a CPL filter to deepen the blue in skies or to reduce glare and reflection from surfaces like glass or water.
Some may think that the Canon V1 already has a built-in ND filter (3-stop), so why add an external one? The 3-stop ND filter (equivalent to ND8) isn’t always sufficient in bright sunlight. For still images, it’s not a huge issue since you can reduce the light using other settings like shutter speed, exposure compensation, or ISO. But if you’re shooting video in bright light while trying to shoot at a low shutter speed at 25fps or 30 fps, sometimes ND8 won’t be enough. Therefore, adding an external ND filter will help a lot, allowing you to achieve the desired light exposure.
The JJC RN-V1 attaches to the front of the lens with 3M adhesive tape, enabling you to use any 58mm filter. The kit includes a spare set of adhesive tape and a tool for removal the keyring-like loops with a nylon thread. For installation and removal instructions, watch the JJC video via this link.
Attaching the JJC RN-V1 to the Canon V1 makes the camera look like the images below. Another image shows it being used with a variable ND filter (K&F Concept 2-in-1 CPL & ND4-ND64).
I also recorded a brief video clip to show whether using a VND filter affects the camera’s stabilization system—both OIS and DIS. Attaching a VND filter to the JJC RN-V1, normally very lightweight, increases its weight considerably. The specific VND filter I used weighs 31.9 grams. I shot handheld, without a tripod, and tried to observe the effect. It didn’t seem to cause any issues, but you can judge for yourself from the video clip below.
