If you’re a person who follows my website, you’ll know that I always create the menu system cheat sheet of various Olympus/OM and other cameras. You may wonder why this time I created the menu system of the Olympus PEN F. It’s an old camera which entering the market since 2016 or 8 years ago. This camera, in terms of still picture, is still excellent. The 20 Mbps is more than enough for a hobbyist photographer like me. I realize that the FHD movie is outdated while the 4k video is currently the industry standard. But the main reasons that I really like it are: it’s a beautiful camera, retro style, good building quality, full of buttons and dials, and the creative dial is an outstanding feature.
As we all know that the menu system of Olympus PEN F is the old style of Olympus menu system which is complicated to find out the location of some items that you want to customize them.
It’s not my intention to write this camera menu system cheat sheet for anybody else because it’s an old camera that not many people are no longer interested in. The Olympus has already discontinued the production of this camera. I only created this cheat sheet for my personal use. My main reason is that the more camera I have, the more confused I get. (I own Olympus, OM System, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and DJI.) So the cheat sheet menu system for each camera is necessary for me.
However, I thought it might be worth for the owners of this camera either they just got it (like me) or got it a long, long time ago. Therefore, why not release it to the public?
Olympus PEN F has 5 main menus:
1. Shooting Menu 1
2. Shooting Menu 2
3. Playback Menu
4. Custom Menu
5. Setup Menu
Note: -The word in the bracket represents the icon in the menu.
-The blue font is a brief clarification. I do not intend to cover everything but only some clarifications that I feel appropriate. This cheat sheet does not cover the using of creative dial because it’s the article about the menu system.
