If you follow the international news from February to March 2022, you will know that Sri Lanka is in the worst economic crisis and fuel shortage, especially the diesel that sparks protests of the people. People demand the Sri Lankan President resign over economic crisis. The current problem is Sri Lanka does not have adequate foreign exchange to pay for fuel imports.
The problem of fuel shortage has not just happened. In November 2017, my wife and I visited Sri Lanka for 5 days. There was also the petrol shortage in Sri Lanka. The problem made my local guide so much worried. He took us by his car from Bandaranaike International Airport to the city of Kandy and then to Colombo. His most worry was where to fill the petrol for his car during our trip.
